The Spelling Beat: Academy

Includes all key components of structured literacy as recommended by the International Dyslexia Association's Structured Literacy Wheel

Vocabulary/background knowledge, phonemes/graphemes, sentences structure/grammar, morphology, syllable & stress patterns (the "beats"), orthographic conventions, critical thinking, and text structure. Lessons are explicit, sequential, cumulative, highly engaging, scaffolded, data-targeted with prompt feedback, and MULTIMODAL.

Multimodal Math Mysteries: Decoding and comprehension strategies are embedded in our math lessons, which are designed to strengthen foundations and allow for TRANSFER and APPLICATION to take place with confidence.

Highly rewarding, highly engaging, extremely relatable content that keeps kids thinking and asking great questions.

We build on foundations starting with subitizing all the way through Pre-Algebra until we're ready to graduate to Algebra 1.

Academy Tuition range: $450-$600/mo (11 month calendar year)

Agency - Group Lessons - 30 minutes / $25

Agency avatar group decoding work happens here. Students are required to meet with the group for at least two team sessions per week. We read clues in "our 3D world" to solve mysteries, reenact what happened (virtual drama club), and then we report what happened in the virtual newsroom.

Beats - 1:1 Lessons - 30 minutes / $30

Beats are studied here. We review all of the English language patterns and memory devices to help them stick. This is an Orton-Gillingham/S2P-based direct instruction structured literacy lesson** that feels like a celebration of language.

Codes are crushed here. Agents are required to meet with admin for full encoding lessons once per week. This is where we assess, apply all handwriting work, and write project-based sentences (reports) that develop our mystery files.
