Highly rewarding, highly engaging, extremely relatable content that keeps kids thinking and asking great questions.
We build on foundations starting with subitizing all the way through Pre-Algebra until we're ready to graduate to Algebra 1.
The ABC's are just the beginning. We like our fun spin on structured literacy and believe in putting the ARTS back into LANGUAGE ARTS.
Read about the three pillars of The Spelling Beat program below!
Agency:
All agents solve decodable mysteries, unlock awards, and APPLY their multisensory reading skills while decoding clues and examining evidence within our structured literacy mysteries!
Beats:
Music, rhythm, and auditory brain gains expand to support working memory and recall of rules for reading and spelling... especially when phoneme-grapheme patterns
are tricky.
Code Crushers:
Crush the code: This crew can apply handwriting, phonemic awareness & phonics skills, and structure during writing.
Speech to Print, Print to Speech: The best learning happens when BOTH are involved.
🔍Mysteries are no match for our agents. All taught phonemes are tracked and tested as agents explore clues and solve each case!
🎧Pre-spelling: Feel the rhythm! Sing those sounds! Tap it, rap it, map it.
🖉Uncap it! We write, we rise. Cross-curricular code crushing: Complete.
Agency avatar group decoding work happens here. Students are required to meet with the group for at least two team sessions per week. We read clues in "our 3D world" to solve mysteries, reenact what happened (virtual drama club), and then we report what happened in the virtual newsroom.
Beats are studied here. We review all of the English language patterns and memory devices to help them stick. This is an Orton-Gillingham/S2P-based direct instruction structured literacy lesson** that feels like a celebration of language.
**A video lesson series (for asynchronous work) is coming soon to The Academy YouTube channel! Stay tuned for The Spelling Beat Begins!
Codes are crushed here. Agents are required to meet with admin for full encoding lessons once per week. This is where we assess, apply all handwriting work, and write project-based sentences (reports) that develop our mystery files.
