Our courses are designed by experienced educators and dyslexia advocates who are experts in the science of reading, learning, and math.  

The Academy is intended not only to quickly close the reading/writing gaps but also to build background knowledge for comprehension, community, confidence, and creative expression.  No more missing out on art class or music to do tutoring:  This intervention has art and music BUILT IN. 

This completely depends on your learner and will be determined by their completion of flipped learning tasks, live sessions, and frequent progress monitoring checkpoints.  

EVERY child is different, and while some have raced through the sequence in 18 months, others may need 2-3 years.  Our program has been tested and rewritten MANY times since it was first developed based on reading science and the NRP reports in 2012.  Our scope and sequence, lesson components, word lists, decodable texts, games, handwriting series, decodable mysteries, group activities, and numeracy scope have been revised for maximum efficiency and cognitive load support.

The $175 placement and onboarding assessment is beneficial for any family- even those that choose not to join the academy.  

Agents will win The Spelling Beat trophy once they have:

* ...crushed their own (personalized) goal-based targets for encoding/decoding improvement in each strand of the Reading Rope (Dr. Scarborough) 

AND

*...reached the top 90th percentile* when PRIVATELY ranked against other students in The Academy.  *Criteria not directly shared with agents.  

Optional:  

Agents will be given an opportunity to sign up for an annual TSB-S2P virtual spelling competition and may even wish to train with our administrator for their regional round of the  Scripps National Spelling Bee.  

One TSB graduate made it all the way to the Washington, D.C. Scripps Spelling Bee in both 2023 AND 2024!
